Establish Credit History to Be Eligible for Best Credit Cards

All of us clearly realize how important it is to have a good credit history. Actually, it is your credit card issuer that takes a much greater interest in your credit report. If you have no credit history you should not count on getting best credit cards. Unless creditors make sure that you do not present a big risk for them, you will have to put up with less beneficial terms or, probably, even will not qualify for some of the offers you will decide to apply for.

That is where you get into a vicious circle. To get qualified for a credit card you need to have a credit history. To have a good credit history you must have a credit report that can be kept only in case you have credit. But do not rush to give up. There is always a way out. As for starting your credit history, there are even several available, tested, and effective methods you can use. Here they are.

Ways to Start Your Credit History

1. Authorized user. Becoming your parents' or friend's credit card authorized user is one of the ways to start establishing your credit card history. In this case you get an access to the account, but you do not need to pay off this credit card's balance. All the responsibility rests with the card owner's shoulders. Your task will be to make sure that creditors report the information about all your transactions to a credit bureau.

2. Checking account. Building your credit history with the help of your checking account is another option you can take advantage of. You need to ask your bank to grant you an overdraft protection. So, you will be able to write out checks for larger sums than you have on your account. But the amount of money should not exceed your cash reserve's limit. Sinking your debts on time will guarantee you the improvement of your credit report.

3. Secured credit cards. Applying for a secured credit card is one more way to establish your credit history. Such a card secures you from financial missteps and getting into debts. To activate this card's account you are to make a deposit some certain amount of money which will determine the total of your credit limit. So, you will not be able to spend more money than you have deposited, which also guarantees you good credit records in your report.

4. Student credit cards. Getting a credit card for students is the most popular way to start a credit history. As soon as you enter a college or a university you can fill out a student credit card application. It is a great chance for young people with no credit history to become financially independent and learn the basics of managing their money matters.

5. Department store cards. You will have absolutely no problems with signing up for a department store card. Such cards have comparatively low credit limits and can be used only at particular department stores. As you activate your card's account a credit reporting agency starts monitoring your transactions and making records.

Undertaking some difficult big task is always concerned with risks. Establishing a good credit history from a scratch, so to say, is not an easy matter either. But, do not be afraid to fail, it is all in your hands. Just pick the right way for you and the best credit card deals will shower you right away.
